The Lottery

Ok, so today is a huge jackpot for the Indiana Lottery…a billion dollars or something silly like that.  Now, I don’t hold any illusions that I’ve got the winning ticket or anything similar.  One fun thing about playing it when the jackpot is so very, very huge is to imagine what you would do with all of that money.  I don’t mean all the responcible things you would do.  Of course you’d pay down all of your debt and buy your mom and dad a new house and an all-expense paid trip wherever they would like to go (or just come and visit for a month straight :-))  I’m talking about the fun stuff.

Of course, we’d all quit our jobs (which would be somewhat difficult for my company as the entire tech team is going in on a ticket) but some of the things people would like to do is rather fun.  They range from buying a yacht to building a fun park and gun range.  For me, I think I’d like to have a replica of the bridge from the enterprise…set-up so I could invite friends over and we could run through senarios and get in some good-ol fashioned role-playing.   I would certainly like to buy a boat too…one of those boats you look at the boat show and go what if.

Eventually, my thoughts start moving toward what would I want to do for the rest of my life though.  I can’t speak for Rhonda but have it on good authority that she and I would both want something to occupy our time.  Certainly, we would volunteer more and be involved in things that we care about but I really wonder if I’d be able to stay away from work in one form or another.  Somedays it can really be rough and you end the day really wondering if it’s worth it in the end.  But more often than not, I’m proud of what I do and love that accomplishment of really doing a good job or figuring something out.  Maybe in the end, I would punch in and out (maybe not 40 hours but I could see my self doing 15-20) and come home and enjoy exploring the galaxy after a hard day in the real world.

Then again, maybe not.  With a little luck, I’ll be a multi-millionaire and we can see what happens next 🙂

I know how you feel. Dennis and I play 3 tickets 2 times a week One lotto, one powerball and one mega millions. I don’t really expect to win but you never know. I think it is good to have dreams of what if you never want to lose hope that the impossible can happen. It is really fun to see if you have the winning numbers. I get excited if I only win $4.00. We’ll see I haven’t checked my numbers yet. lol. The only thing I do have to say if you get a call from me or Dennis and we tell you that we want you to come and visit right away I would plan on doing that because it probably means we won the lottery. lol What fun
